This was an interesting situation, I only met Soledad a week before her wedding. She was having some health issues and was going to postpone her wedding, but at the last minute she was feeling better and everything was falling into place to go ahead with the same date they had planned before. Except for booking a photographer, luckily I had that weekend open. Soledad and Victor got married at Peoples Church in Fresno CA. The reception was held at a little golf course tucked away in Fresno called San Joaquin Valley County Club. I wish I could have had more time to get to know everyone so I would have had more to blog about. But, what can you do, I was happy I was able to help with her beautiful last minute wedding!

I went to college at Letourneau University in Longview TX. An experience that I loved, and one of the things that made it so enjoyable for me was the staff of the university. Staff that would call you on your cell phone when you didn’t show up to class to tell you to wake up and get to class (annoying and hilarious at the same time, especially because the whole class waited for me to show up before starting). In the case of Corey, he would stay up late and come meet with me when I was having trouble with something and needed advice. Corey really took the time to invest in the students and consequently is loved across the board by anyone who has gone to school there (the guy has 2600+ Facebook friends).
So as you can imagine is was very flattered to receive the call to fly out and shoot his wedding. I got to see lots of old friends, and eat at all my favorite restaurants from my college days. Congrats Corey and Patty! Thanks for letting be a part of your day!

Groups shots on the couch were stellar, good job Zach!
the shot of the cloudy sky is just excellent! amazingly done.....

I recently had the opportunity to photograph a vacationing Canadian couple, I asked Michelle for a little tidbit about them so I could blog more accurately, the following is what she sent me:
We have been married five years and dated for five years before that, and we’ve enjoyed every bit of it. We’re both from Ontario, Canada. I (Michelle) teach high school English and Norm is the product manager of Springfree Trampoline, a company which makes safe trampolines without springs. We love to see new places together, and we’ve been on trips to Mexico, the Caribbean, China, Italy, Florida, and now the Southwest U.S in August 2010. We had a fantastic time on our road trip exploring the Utah parks, the Grand Canyon, Yosemite National Park, and Sequoia National Park. We were going to get photos taken for our fifth anniversary in June, but when our initial photographer didn’t work out, we thought, since we were taking this trip in August, why not wait until then and have the Giant Sequoia trees as a backdrop? We hope to continue to make wonderful memories together.
-Norm and Michelle O’Hara
I have been wanting to get up to the mountains for awhile now, and you know how it is… even though its only a 1.5 hour drive from Visalia, just couldn’t find the time… So thank you Norm and Michelle for giving me the chance to get up there! My favorite part of the whole thing was the “shock and awe” that they experienced when they first saw the Giant Sequoias. Consequently they spent a lot of time looking up , so I decided to play of of this theme. Sit back and enjoy some samples from there “vacatiportraits”.
For you scouting photographers/tourists out there here is where all this was shot:
Sequoia National Park, Crescent Meadow, Morro Rock, Tunnel Log, and Parker Group.
Thanks for the referral Kevin!

Great job on the photographs, looks like you were hanging out with them for quite a bit of the day. I'm glad that you were able to help them since I was booked out of town that week.

James and Lindsay started dating way back when they were 16 and 17, and amazingly managed to survive dating long distance throughout college.
Their wedding was held at the beautiful Palmdale Estates.
This wedding had a ton a details to photograph, she rode up to the wedding in a horse drawn carriage, the boys showed up with the groups favorite beer in hand, "Pliny the Elder" (which was a fun prop), and the couple even peddled up to the reception on beach cruisers (yes Lindsay did ride a bike in her wedding dress, loved it).
The wedding was beautifully decorated, the location was amazing, the weather was perfect (look at those clouds!), and the couple picked the perfect time of day for it all to happen (sunset of course), enjoy!

Forrest and Zack these are awesome! You guys are amazing! Thank you so much!
